I have been a Professional Chef for over 30 years! Yikes!!! My specialty is Italian and Asian with a splash of Indian! My cooking style is Rustic with bold flavors. I believe that food should be a mix of great flavor, high eye appeal and a link to memories! Currently my passion with food lies in working with local Farms and sourcing locally. This is a trend that has never gone out of style, just people forgot to practice it.

I started cooking very young and realized at an early age that cooking was art and a way to express myself!

I opened a Cafe in The Cooper House in the early 80’s then transitioned to Napa where I started cooking professionally for a few years. I  moved back to Santa Cruz and worked in various restaurants until landing the position of Executive Chef at The Chaminade Resort and Spa.  I was asked to  open a restaurant in Shinagawa, Japan, which was a dream! I love Tokyo and the flavors of Japan! When I left Chaminade I  continued my  passion with food and started  working as a Culinary instructor at Cabrillo College in Aptos. The students presented different challenges in this field! They continued to push my skills and knowledge in and around food.

Most recently I have “honed my skills” and have become a pretty decent Gluten Free Chef. This was brought about by my husband becoming Gluten Free. The items you purchase were expensive and very limited!

But as a Chef, I love working with local and sustainable food. Supporting our local farms and the flavor of fresh produce and meats is something incredible! Check out some of my links to local farms and please visit the Farmer’s Market and CSA! Without our support, they cannot sustain.
